Halloween is a pretty serious event in my household, with witches hanging on the walls all year round you have to expect that my mother is going to go to town. Above are my halloween cupcake treats, which were great fun making but I never seem to have enough time - always a mad rush!! I then had to create my outfit above which included making the head piece from scratch - cutting through wire with scissors is not an easy or quick task! The outfit was a success - my friends and I loved our lenses so much that we wanted to wear them all the time! I researched "Day of the Dead" for my outfit and found all the images and outfits so interesting which definitely got me into the spirit of things!
Till next year! x

"I love to paint" a quote that springs to mind from The Notebook when the main character is asked what she does for herself. To me painting and drawing is definitely the greatest time to have to yourself and get lost in your own world. Having never had any lessons, I started doodling and my bf noticed I wasn't half bad so he suprised me with a trip to an art shop and bought me all I could need and so I began to paint. Above is a painting I did that brings back happy memories. Hard to find the time to fully commit to a painting I wish I could just spend my days in a studio in my own little world..x

French model Laetitia Casta in a couture dress by Elie Saab.
Kristin Scott Thomas in Giambattista Valli.
Only a few ladies at Venice Film Festival impressed me with their style choices. I always seem drawn to sparkle and a nude colour palette and even with Kristen Scott Thomas' paisley patterned orange and white dress she accessorises it with a beautiful sparkiling bracelet and large dangling earrings. Looking absolutely beautiful with youthful glowing skin it was nice to see KST move away from her more classic style and showing a daring side that paid off.
Kate Hudson accompanied by Matt Bellamy looked elegant and lived up to her timeless style on the red carpet with an enviable figure in this flattering and stunning dress.
Laetitia Casta unbeknown to me but as a fan of all couture dresses by Elie Saab this of course would stand out to me and with a peachy hue I absolute adore it.

I feel my lack of posts these days is a continuation of my negative reaction to the trends of Autumn Winter shows earlier in the year along with the ugly trends that keep popping up in my news feeds, searches and reading material. Like my previous post about the frightening excitement at neon, I have just come from Elle UK online and felt the need to shake my head at the knowledgeable ladies there.
I have seen a few offenders posting in blogs about their newly purchased comfort soles and I wonder why people who consider themselves fashion savvy feel the need to follow trends even when they are nothing but awful. They then team up these offensive shoes that I wouldnt even wear in the comfort of my home with pyjama trousers. I am all for comfort and being at ease when you are still attempting an effortless look of style but this just looks plain ridiculous. Flat shoes and patterned trousers can be adorned in many ways without looking somewhat obscure and resembling someone that has fallen off the crazy wagon. I have hope for the season yet but I will be dodging shuffling slippers, baroque patterns and neons like I have reactive intollerance to them.

NEON; it was for those unfortunate souls that became lost in the cloud of raves and anthems and were unaware of the fatal errors they were making in bright, iris burning hues of yellow, orange, pink and green.
With the nineties being a decade I can always enjoy to look back on, along with many other decades of fashion that offer so much style, glamour and evocative thought when thinking about your own personal style choices; I am just at a loss with the neon trend of late. There is a fine line when choosing your colour palette and neon is one step too far in making that bold statement. When thinking about inspiration for outfit choices one wouldn’t want to resemble a traffic cone or parking attendant so I struggle as to what made designers and fashion forward people of our generation bring back this faux pa.

Clutch: Miss Selfridge
Necklace, Shirt and Pumps: Primark
Although we would like to think Spring is fully upon us and thesun will continue to shine, the last week has shown quite the contrary. With that in mind I was pretty pleased with my ensemble for my boyfriends gig on Friday night. The fact that the whole outfit was from old pieces from my wardrobe was even better - a satisfaction that you did well on those naughty shopping trips past spent! The pastel pink trousers gave the outfit a smart tailored look which I played down with the venue in mind with the denim shirt and the pop of colour in my shoes and bag. All very individual elements that fitted so well together. I loved the big necklace which was almost like a collar piece bringing an extra edge to my outfit. With the weather being nothing but dismal the shirt allowed me to hide many layers! Definitely a winner and one to go with again! X

For a last minute outfit this worked out quite well, which shows that when you think about pieces you buy, it pays off in the future! This lovely skirt I bought in Zara last summer on a mad pleated skirt frenzy! The colour is cute and gives a glow to you…I hardened the look with a black strappy top and black witchy boots and my new LOVE belt from Urban Outiffters which my boyfriend got me! Perfect little outfit for a spring gig!
Excuse the phone photos, this was an unplanned post but I thought I'd make the most of my outfit!

Just two months ago Katy and Russell announced their divorce and Russell clearly hasn't waited around, seen out with his new girlfriend after such a short time.
Does Katy seem fazed? NO!
Looking hotter than ever breaking away from her colourful quirky look to demonstrate her sultry sexy side, bejewelled, beaded and tasselled in this burlesque themed shoot for Interview magazine. The pop princess looks every inch the Hollywood starlet in these black and white photographs. Almost double taking to see if its truly her - you are left mesmerised, simply stunning in a different take on her retro style.
Mamma Mia! x

Before Christmas I assisted on my first OK! Magazine shoot with the lovely Lydia Bright and Denise Van Outen. Working on a project together for GOSH the lovely ladies joined us for the day at a location in North London before going to visit children in Great Ormond Street Hospital. I loved the black and gold outfit worn by Lydia, from Lucy in Disguise - Soho.
Good luck ladies.

Last night left me feeling an elation of transendence as I listened to The Maccabees live at Brixton Academy, something I haven't had the chance to do since before the release of their second album. Back in 2005 I saw them for the first time, supporting The Kooks and The Subways in Brighton. I was intreagued by the lead singers style; reminding me of Ian Curtis' stage precense, shy and introvert yet very much a pull of focus.
Off the back of their newly released album Given To The Wild earlier this month, I was unsure if they would play solely their newest songs but it was a great delight to the crowd to hear the riffs of old friends in X-Ray, Can You Give it and others from their first two albums.
All three albums are very different yet all worked in what was an amazing set. I didnt know how I'd like their new stuff but it was definitely a welcome surprise.
The friendship of the band, the excitement they still show at playing to a loving crowd makes you love them that little bit more.
