The Oscars was all about those pure pallid beauties but Cannes has hit us with a far sexier style code. Plunging necklines and waist clinching belts were a popular trend on the red carpet.
Gwen Stefani in a sparkling sequined Stella McCartney jumpsuit accessorized with a handsome Gavin Rossdale at her side making them the sublimely cool couple of the event.
Both Cheryl Cole and Aimee Mullins looked elegantly chic in floor length Stéphane Rolland Couture dresses in contrasting black and white both with gold sculptured detailing to the belt.
Joshua Jackson was ever the cheeky charmer looking suave in a Lanvin tux combined with black trainers. His better half Diane Kruger stole the show looking glamorous in a gold satin number from the Calvin Klein collection. The actress surpassed even models such as Lara Stone in the designer’s gown.
Jude Law and Brad Pitt, two of my favourite people were somewhat of a disappointment, Jude looking like he might choke at any moment with his white bow tie and Brad Pitt now sporting a grey beard appearing far too try hard in tortoise shell shades, nude suit with matching trainers…not quite the youth of Joshua Jackson to pull it off.
Cannes proved chic as ever with a special note to one particular belle, one of my favourite actresses Rachel McAdams. Definitely tipped for best dressed in Cannes, her high-waisted toffee raw silk trousers and a champagne sweetheart neckline bustier by Monique Lhuillier showed off her stunning frame matched with clutch by Salvator Ferragamo. Wowing us in a stunning red lace and nude panelled Marchesa gown, her natural beauty beamed with the glow of love as she graced the carpet with new beau Martin Sheen.
