Pale Princesses

The Oscars brings us all the delights, glitz and glamour that one could hope for of an evening.
Dramatic shades of red, scarlet and tangerine were a popular trend of the night, however I feel the simple beauty of pastels, pearls and silvers surpassed them.

My favourite designer of the night was Marchesa, with Hailee Steinfield in a gorgeous cream dress the young actress helped design.  Crystal hand embroidered ballerina like gown makes this young girl look as though she has walked off the set of Black Swan.

Halle Berry graced the red carpet in a crystal encrusted Marchesa corset gown with organza and silk tulle ruffles. Both theses dresses are a dream and the designer a new found love.

Michelle Williams can sometimes can be accused of being too plain in her red carpet choices, however you could not fault her in this delicately embellished Chanel couture gown. Her elfin beauty sparkles through and the dress hangs beautifully on her waif like body.

Pastel and lace works in unison well for both these beauties, effortlessly chic and of a minimally constructed design compared to the usual gown of such a night.
These pale princesses that twinkle and seduce are a sight that is easy on the eyes and a wonder as to how I might ever get to wear a gown as perfect.
